2010 Public Sector Forum

On April 26th, 2010, Research In Motion (RIM) is hosting a Public Sector Forum. You won’t want to miss this exciting day that is geared towards the unique needs of Government and Public Sector customers using the BlackBerry® solution! This annual event - formerly known as Government Day - focuses on networking with peers, best practices in wireless mobility, and the future of the BlackBerry solution for the Public Sector.

This carefully planned forum is a full day geared to you! The day has been divided into two parts:

  • Morning sessions will focus on Hardware, Mobile Voice Services and the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server.
  • The afternoon sessions will afford you the opportunity to divide into smaller focused groups to learn and discuss subject matter that relates specifically to your environment. Afternoon subject areas include Healthcare, Defense, Law Enforcement and Hot Topics that are relevant to all public sector industries.

At the end of the day be sure to join the Public Sector Reception to network with peers and RIM representatives before heading off to the WES 2010 Welcome Reception.

Topic:  This session will delve into the BlackBerry® Mobile Voice system (MVS) which enables you to bring office phone features to your BlackBerry smartphone. Hear about how your users can take advantage of a one business number, one voice mailbox, and seamlessly switch calls between BlackBerry smartphones and office desk phones.

Meeting Mobile Requirements in the Public Sector
Topic:  This session will showcase a real world mobile deployment in the public sector. Come see how another public sector organization responded to their mobility needs by adding critical mobile applications to their existing BlackBerry environment.

Topic:  The General Session will breakout to three tracks for the afternoon to discuss specific topics relavent to different types of organizations in the public sector. The breakout sessions are as follows:
  • Supporting the Mobile Workforce
    • Target audience is Federal / State / Local Governments, Public Safety, Education, Utilities, Judicial and other public sector organizations
  • Health Care
    • Target audience are organizations involved with health care
  • Defense and Armed Services
    • Target audience are Department of Defense and intelligence organizations along with the various branches of the armed forces.
